Beyond the game and the BAT mod
« on: March 23, 2012, 03:14:35 AM »
Hey everyone,

I'm new to the league and I'm really looking forward to playing Civ4 with everyone.  I downloaded the Beyond the Game mod, and it runs great.

Does anyone know if the Beyond the Game Mod implements any features from the unaltered game-play BAT mod?  I've grown rather dependent on a lot of the features in the BAT mod, and it's hard for me to consider playing Civ4 without it.  Also, has anyone had any success playing the BAT mod itself multiplayer?

No it doesn't pick up any of the code of BAT,

Yes we did consider having the 2 merge together, but in the end, from our side it would have been too much work on our coder, and, quite honestly, this was going beyond my IT skills and as a coordinator it would have be a danger for our release,

Yes we did contact the BAT team and I did discuss several times with EmperorFool (I do recall him even helping debugging/implementing some stuff for us), but they couldn't afford to support our MOD in parallel of theirs,

I'm not sure about BAT but in theory yes you can play multiplayer with.
