I thought you guys might be interested in this, apparently last weekend Civ5 topped 70000+ users on steam, will be interesting to see what the second weekend brings.  Nice to see a TBS Game kicking FPS's out of the top 5.

Pretty cool site, will be interesting to see how this number varies in the coming months.

I guess that total number is both SP and MP, since you have to run both through steam (and most people probably play in online mode).

I notice CIV3 is on that list too :) - Which 173 people are still playing that?

Ya but the Civ3 numbers won't be that accurate as Civ3 is not a Steam exclusive game, so only people that purposefully register there Civ3 games with the Steam app will show their.  We have over 100 Civ3 players on our league alone.

Yes it will be interesting to see how the Civ5 stats evolve, even though it is a combined total and not just MP, the relative ups and downs will still be meanful to us.

And yet when I look today I see CS:Source is #1, a game that was released almost 7 years ago. I'd be willing to bet that in another 7 years there will still be more people playing CS:Source than Civ5. Any takers? ^^

Well I'm not so sure, if Civ5 gets good modding abilities like Civ3 had, we might see Civ5 living a long time after it's teething period is over.
