Red I guess it won't work the way you think it will work. Since top player aren't playing anc ss or other teamgames cause those are faster and more fun with the right ppl playing them. It's just the nature of those 2 different styles of game which makes them be played differently often...

still you get a lot more for winning a teamer than cton

The only argument I've heard against changing ctons is that it makes them more noob-farmable.  How does that differ from farming noobs in duels?  Or letting your RD get really high in between CCC's and farming teamers?

Tweaking ctons is not going to break the system.  Playing 1 game a week and winning is what breaks the system.  Or letting your RD get really high then setting your account on vacation just before you get a skill drop is what breaks the system.

Z, I agree. I propose changing the modifiers to what I said in my earlier post, based on placing in a cton.

If that is too complicated, it would even be better to make the multiplier higher than 0.4 - maybe 0.8? It is pathetic to gain +6 points when playing vs. 5 quite good players. I love ctons but I (and I am sure others too) am being deterred by the reward of such a game.

It is true that a higher modifier would increase the loss when you register one, but good players will have a higher probability of winning than of losing, so in the end it will wash out to the real skill of the player. And be aware that farming won't be easy. Once your skill is high, 2nd place can already get you a loss! And how many times can you GUARANTEE you get 1st place in a cton, with all the variables of a civ game?

Moreover, if you have say skill 1800 and want to farm 4 noobs, to ENSURE 1st place, you will only gain +4, compared to the current +2, anyway. Not such a big deal.

Yes, farming ctons is no worse than farming duels or farming time. The RD should not decline with time like that, either (and neither should it with stat reset, IMO).

yes plz, make the modifier higher, even if it means higher potential skill loss. A much better alternative. What we currently have is totally unacceptable.

I am bringing this up AGAIN. Now since the move to the new server, the minimum RD has been taken down from 47 to something like 25... Now for a cton win, even with GOOD players in, I get +3... Please adjust SOMETHING... either the modifier, or the minimum RD. The latter is a better solution, otherwise progress in the ranks is waaaay too slow. It will force people to go on vacation for 7 days and come back to a more decent RD.

Yes it seems it had gotten reset to 30, I've increased the min RD on both leagues to 50, and we can give that a try and see if that is  a sweet enough spot.  We didn't do this on purpose, it must have been as a result of uploading the database.

The cton modifer is already at 0.7 Mu_ and has been since we last had this dicussion.  But remember the settings for game reports are done when the game is reported NOT when it is confirmed.  So likely if those games were reported when you had a RD of 30 the skill is a result of that.  Wait til you see a game that is definitely played and reported after I changed the min RD.  Then we have real data to see if we have the setting right.
