Bantams why don't you let us handle issues like these?  And if you have a complaint this is not the place to voice it and you know it.  Linde was just trying to learn the software after the mistake he made on the CCC weekend, yes he didn't chose the best method, but that has all been corrected.

@Banty & Lestat:

I've discussed this topic with Banty for close to an hour yesterday on C4F. Even after I had corrected Linde's stats Banty still insisted that I should put Linde in the box. Yet there is no reason to do so, and I'll explain it once more.

1. Duplicate accounts are forbidden.
2. In certain exceptional cases a league player may create a duplicate account, if he has a valid reason to do so. Those include purposes that are in full interest of the league and are done on behalf of it, such as learning the TD software.
3. The most important basic rule is that you have to inform the Admin Team that and why you want to create a duplicate account. Thus the Admin Team has a chance to rule on it.
4. The Admin Team then will grant you permission or deny it.
5. Linde fulfilled all of these requirements. He sent several emails concerning the topic to the Mailroom, and he asked me on C4F about it. I was informed about his steps all the time, and after the incident with the tourney he immediately asked me to correct his stats (which I did).
6. On the grounds of the league rules there is no valid reason why Linde could be suspended.
7. If this discussion remains on the path of a personal vendetta, we sure won't let that happen.

On a side note I have to say that I rather would have a TD who tries to sort out his problems with the software in order to become a good TD. I'm not the biggest fan of Linde because of his permanent posting of trash on the forums, but in trying to become a good TD he has done a good thing for once and deserves some credit at least. It's an effort I appreciate if it helps him in avoiding mistakes like in the last CCC.

I hope the discussion is at an end with this.

You know, it's easier to get some wins erased than some losses :D

.... cause if you get wins everybody else will bug the admins to delete them.

When Linde gave himself his first tournament win (in spite of his then 0-3 tournament record, a neat trick) he was not trying to hide it.  He told people immediately.  At that point he had not made any test accounts.

I gave Linde the same advice Slaughter and the HTD gave me when the TD system was new, make test accounts.

That's what I advised Linde to do and unlike me he took the initiative and did it.

Bantams, why are you on a crusade? I told you in the lobby that if Decebal isn't playing under his registered league name that any games disputed by other players because of this would be deleted.  If you think you can run a league better than us feel free to try, but this is your last warning, if you take an issue to the forums that should be dealt with by the Admin team, you will lose your ability to post here for 14 days, I'm getting tired of your ranting at will in the forums on issues that have no business here, this is your last chance.

I really don't understand your last two posts Bantams. You know this isn't the place to make accusations.  If you have some evidence that anyone has broken our rules, please forward it to me.

[PPP]Decebal is certainly a league member in good standing (I just checked).  In fact, it's physically impossible to report a game if a person isn't on the League database. If he, or anyone, has duplicate accounts - the right way to handle it is to email any or all Admins asking for an investigation.

I also would dispute your contention that Admins are biased towards PPP or any clan. I've never seen this happen in my many years on both the CIV3 and CIV4  ladders. Usually, if a dispute involves an Admin's clan, they will hand it over to someone else for resolution or at least to get a supporting opinion. It is common practice before anyone is suspended for one Admin to send the other admins the information and what they intend to do.  Often, the responses cause the original Admin to adjust their thinking.

@SPM:

What Banty wanted to say was probably that Decebal was playing with the GameSpy nickname "Decebal" instead of "[PPP]Decebal" (though I don't know if he really was, have not talked to him about it). Of course this is no "duplicate account" according to the league rules, because the rule about it covers only league accounts. It's a matter of playing a valid league game - and as CS said, if disputed, the game won't be counted. As simple as that.

@Banty:

I'd like to have the $100 now - the thread wasn't and won't be deleted...

#1 - I don't consider the presence or absence of a clan tag to be indicative of any kind of duplicate account or deception.  People add and remove clan tags all the time.  I must not be the only person who things this way. If you go to the Find player function and look up "Bantams" you'll find [CC]Bantams. I would never try to use the insignificant difference between those names as a justification for refusing an otherwise legitimate report.

#2 - Players are allowed to change their League names.  I've never done it but it's perfectly permissable. For example, if you look up Decebal you'll see the other name you mentioned.  And talk about the pot calling the kettle black, here's what I get when I look up Bantams:

Current Name

[CC]Bantams

Former Names: Shinco, Bantams, CROAT_1-4_ENGLAND, Bantams, [JFF]Bantams, Bantams, [MCC]Bantams, Bantams, [KC]Bantams, Bantams, [CC]TLB

Excuse me, but I don't see a difference here.  What's sauce for the goose should be sauce for the gander.

#3 - Your last post (especially in light of CS's warning two or three posts ago) was a flame.  It is not necessary to make derogatory personal ad hominem insults, such as calling people "stupid",  to make your point.  I am giving you a one week FORUM suspension (this does not effect your ability to play).

When your forum privileges are re-instated, please show some civility.  You should know that if you have legitimate complaints against other players, or admins, the forum is not the place to voice them.
