Can the ladder support other games?
« on: October 05, 2009, 05:35:08 PM »
Just curious if it would be a lot of work to make the ladder also support another game.  Being that we have an excellent platform, why not expand user base this way instead of berating newbies into joining the ladder before they are ready? I think we might end up with some crossover players too.  Also a few Civ4 players might be more willing to try new games as well.

Well I enjoy playing Sins of a Solar Empire. But it has no ladder system, and its really hard to keep the smurfs from messing serious games up. Ironclad Online (AKA ICO) is just lacking in features. Though maybe we could persuade them to add ability to connect to a game lobby with another application, like C4F.

I'm not sure what other games would be doable, we tried a CivRev Forum but that game basically bombed in MP.  The only other games that would make sence would be other TBS games like perhaps Masters of Orion, but we really don't have the programmers to clone the leagues code to include new games right now anyway.
