Fresh meat ;D Welcome to the killing fields :attack:

I have discovered even diety, cannot prepare you for the complexities involved in multiplayer, if its a challenge your hoping for, you have found it.

The game format you might be most interested in would either be an ironman, (Game is played from start to finish with no turn limit) Game ends when all players agree to call it.

Or, you might enjoy a Zheton :P This is a newer style game that is still trying to find a place in the multi world.

Goodluck in your learning curve. If I might suggest, send an email to Decebal asking about the benifits of joining the PP-TBGP clan. The benifits from this are some very good tutorials and live training in all things multi.

I should point out that I do intent to continue my single player games. The epic speed OCC diplomatic victories or trying to get domination on terra maps without declaring war are too much fun to miss. No, I'm getting into multiplayer for the therapeutical warmongering!

Well, I guess this seems like the right place to introduce yourself. So, well, here I am! I'm a new civ player, FPS fanatic and a proud Canadian. I find strategy games have a much more fulfilling strategic element than shooters, so I picked up civ4 a few weeks ago. Right now I'm trying to get into MP and learn how it's done, so I joined this here website to partake in "The civ4 experience." So hello everyone!

Howdy gang.
Ive been a Civilization player since the first game. Spent sooo many hours of my life playing its not funny. Done just a bit of online play in Civ3 but no sooner did I start then I got married. Recently Ive gotten the family to join in lans of Civ4bts with me and this prompted me to rejoin the bigger game. I prefer marathon games but Im aware that its hard to get a group together for games that can take months. In single player I do well on Immortal but I know that has little to do with online play. Looking forward to having my ass handed to me by the big kids  ;D

Welcome to C4P.  I like your attitude already!  Don't be afraid to ask questions if you are unsure of something, and you will be just fine!

Welcome! :)

I would gladly invite you into PPP-TG, but we're experiencing some technical problems at the moment.

well no 3 month long marathon ironman in the CCC just yet, but just give your friendly neighbourhood CCAC a call and i'm sure they will be happy to add it as an event.

I've yet to see somebody introduce themselves on the forums before playing a MP game actually show up in ladder games and play long term (although maybe non ladder).  Maybe you will be the first!
Once upon a time, there was a powerful and surprising rush.  In the end that humiliation motivated me way more than anything else could. (TMB)

Ive played quite a few C3 MP games, and some C4 but admittedly not many. The catch is Ive started the wife and son on Civilization.. and woe onto the man what tells his wife he doesnt want to play with her because the online guys are getting together  :-X We also play Warhammer but I can sneak out of that.. You may be right though, I may have been kidding myself about how much time I can devote to a league. My first weekend I connected to the server 6 times and got pulled away before an appropriate match began. However, I did get 1 ffa in  :)

Hi new ladder member been playing the game for a bit I enjoy longer games on larger maps more and I HATE the turn timer though I am learning to live with it.  I expect I won't be one of the best players here but hope to have fun.  Been playing since the game came out and if you look at the credits for beta testers...well you might see my name.

Anyway hope to have fun favorite map types are continents, terra, and for smaller maps I love maze.

Welcome Zaldar.  Expect to play in FFA (free for all) and CTON (no dealing, talking with others in game about the game, no prearranged alliances) to establish your skill level, so everyone can  make balanced teamers.
