i ve been playing civ3 multi, then civ4 van multi, then civ4 bts single.

i hoped in the lobby one time and decebal helped me out with patching and signing up on this league i played a few duels and liked it very much...but when i try to join the league teamers i keep gettingkicked  suggestions??

Hello Kanzler

You are already on the right track by joining Training Grounds, You can learn alot from [PPP] guys. To get entry in league teamers you need to play some ctons or just some simple teamers in lobby so that other people know you and also you will have an idea about how league teamer will be.

I did the same thing and some people who played ctons started vouching for me when I joined league. I still did a lot of mistakes after that ( like dying to warriors, dying to scouts , getting choked, not making grinary, not learning the slaving art properly [just click the slave button does not mean you know how to slave, u need to lear the math]); or not expanding properly or even over expanding. But I learn all the time ( You just need to keep quite and learn without arguing, but you can ignore people who are rude and you think they dont make any sense). This will give a good impression to other players. After playing 60-70 games in league still I do bad ( oh well but who doesnt have a odd bad game or so); However recently I have been  getting compliments on doing well. It was never easy to get to this stage with so much of critic and the pressure to do better then good.
Golden rule that worked for me  is dont end turn and  follow 1 good player and see all his moves in your team and learn his style of playing then do that with some other player in next game.

I hope few things I wrote might help.

Regards
Slayer

Well I can tell you for sure Vamius is not back ... so either he was impostered or Kanzler is reporting bogus duels.

Anyway, I kicked him out of PPP-TG a week ago and got no reply so ...

I think this kind of thread is a great idea. I am going to sticky it and we are going to include in every new member's welcoming activation email a pointer to this article so new people can check in and say hi.

Best, SPM

Welcome to league. I hope you enjoy your experience. Feel free to ask any questions on this thread or in person ( BTS lobby). I am not that great either :) but will try to answer if you have any questions.

Just a quick post to remind everyone that there is a member profile section where you can tell everyone a little bit about yourself.  New players come and introduce yourselves, old dudes let everyone get to know you better - cmon, you're on here so much you can't say that the time isn't available (think of it as something to do while you wait)...

Get active and there may be more interesting things to read!

NOTE: This forum section can currently only be viewed when logged in (I don't know exactly why as it isn't really top secret information).  Follow this link to get there:

Gentlemen, allow me to introduce myself,

Over the past years, I’ve tried Civ4 multiplayer mode. Every single time it ended in frustration. OOS, CTD, AFK and quitters. Especially quitters. So I wondered if a community with properly motivated civ lovers would be able to agree on playing the game all the way, even continuing when there is absolutely no hope of victory. To show your resilient nature. To have that guerrilla warfare. *Sigh*, if it only were true…

But hey, guess what, it is! Stumbled upon the civplayers league website in an article on Civfanatics.com; registered, and tonight (CET) I'll venture to the lobby to have my ass whooped.

I’ve had my share of noobish mistakes in multiplayer before. Scouting with my warrior – thus leaving my capitol undefended. Sending out an undefended settler – barbarians were off, right? Not creating a proper army – still get caught off guard by this in single player, though. Not whipping or chopping – at all! (I’m still practicing on the whipping…)

Read most of the newbieforum by now. Installed c4f. Ready to join some cton. My first goal: not to be the first to die!

Regards,

Praecipitoris
