Hello All, a thread to present yourself
« on: April 07, 2009, 03:50:47 AM »
Hi

I am new to ladder, Joined few months back. I am from vanilla and played it for good 4 years. It has been a very exciting journey so far with loads of good times and (few) bad ones too ( but oh well can't complain). Making  loads of new friends everyday, who are very nice and I would like to take my time and thank you for your helping me with stuff and sharing your experiences.

Some of the freinds I would like to thank are :

1. Marak ( True Team Player, I am impressed with his game play)

2. Execat ( a good friend)

3. EBD ( a good player who is down to earth and share good and bad experiences)

4. Enigmas ( Very good team player, great to have in team, I learn how to be a good team player with an example he set for me few days back when I was choked badly)

5. Elite Fighter ( Chris, this dude really helps without annoying anyone and knows his game very well)

6. Leekar ( I only played with him once, but I can see he is great guy too)

7. DeadlyRolling ( Cool dude, just needs to stay away from too much of dope ;=)

8. All players of noob clan ( We rock YAY! All good guys)

8.5  Last but not least all admins are very nice and helpful :) Canuak  helped me in lobby today :D

However as we all know there are two sides of every coin.  I would also like to mention some players who are cunning, zero sportsman ship, annoying and with no heart (Atleast I felt that way). We newbs really want to keep away from them or just listen to them and not follow them.

1. Eskendale ( a complete noob, who likes to advice but doesnt know this game himself, very cunning, annoying, will die if you rush him and wont help his team mates)
2. MLL ( half brother of Eskendale, a complete whinner, crys like a baby, annoying and cunning)
3. Mael/ Ballista ( Hmm decent player, but very cunning, you may want to listen and learn from him but a total nut, bad sportsman ship)

So here I am with my list of players who make ladder great and others who don't :). I am sure that many of you feel the same way as we have spoken about this in lobby chats before. Overall I find ladder a very good concept and majority of people are good. Few exception  but maybe they can change after reading my post (lol, I don't see that happening)). I will recommend this to everyone  who enjoy's good long games :).

Much thanx and Regards
Slayer

You are my hero. Wanna be my dad? Can I sign up for your cult ?

P.S. We got asked by [noob] (you guys need a new name :D) for an anc 5v5 clangame 2 days ago and played. I was impressed, they picked for scoutstart in reversed pick, but did that very well (maybe besides celtics instead of aztec ;) ) and played well and aggresively. We had a tough time beating them. I guess if you guys keep it up, you could have quite some fun in CCC. Welcome to our league !

Best post i've seen in quite a while, and I agree with your analysis.  Interesting to see the civ world from the eyes of a [NOOB].  You should play [clan] in a game soon!
Once upon a time, there was a powerful and surprising rush.  In the end that humiliation motivated me way more than anything else could. (TMB)

I suggest you join the CCCAC as well, you seem like a well balanced person (not that you need to be one for the CCCAC of course).

There is only ONE truth out there. That truth will be revealed in any case. The only question is the time.

Hello Kanzler

You are already on the right track by joining Training Grounds, You can learn alot from [PPP] guys. To get entry in league teamers you need to play some ctons or just some simple teamers in lobby so that other people know you and also you will have an idea about how league teamer will be.

I did the same thing and some people who played ctons started vouching for me when I joined league. I still did a lot of mistakes after that ( like dying to warriors, dying to scouts , getting choked, not making grinary, not learning the slaving art properly [just click the slave button does not mean you know how to slave, u need to lear the math]); or not expanding properly or even over expanding. But I learn all the time ( You just need to keep quite and learn without arguing, but you can ignore people who are rude and you think they dont make any sense). This will give a good impression to other players. After playing 60-70 games in league still I do bad ( oh well but who doesnt have a odd bad game or so); However recently I have been  getting compliments on doing well. It was never easy to get to this stage with so much of critic and the pressure to do better then good.
Golden rule that worked for me  is dont end turn and  follow 1 good player and see all his moves in your team and learn his style of playing then do that with some other player in next game.

I hope few things I wrote might help.
