Just to give you a heads up, I think this thread falls under the "advertising another site" rule.  I won't lock or move this thread, but it's very possible that another admin will.

On another note, how does your clan ladder prevent the same 3 people from playing each and every event?  Maybe clans should be 5 members max, so as not to mislead everyone into thinking a particular clan is uber when in fact it is just the same 3 people that are really good.

I Dont think its competing if they report on both its kinda like Clan League but not run here no?

I guess it depends on the clans Bantams ... though I really can't see people playing for one clan here and against that clan there.

(by clan please read group of people)

And if they do, then either here or there they are not being honest!

What do you mean events? Players challenge other clans in the lobby, or host a clan game.

Yes I did.

But if the score's are being reset every month, then the differance wont be so much between the low ranks and the high ones for a while.

So you have a week of abuse.

I gues this really depends on how many clans will be taking part, if it's just a handful then what I'm saying wont be such a problem, but if you have say 8-10 then it a massive loop hole IMO.  And if you limit the numbers then you run the risk of having a closed ladder.

I dont see why you just dont add this to this league site under a separate section rather than doing a separate site, that way we canintegrate it into the CCC.

Its a fine idea but what makes you think you can monitor the results and issues we have on this site. Unpicking results that someone posts is a nightmare.

Well....I'll let this thread stand for now.  But it would have been alot better if you had told me about your idea in advance Gef.  Things usually get off to a better start if they are advertised, but if you are determined to go this alone, I'll move this thread to the non-league competitions area, and you can run it just like the KAC competitions their.

I'm not entirely sure that a monthly clan points competition is the answer to getting clans more active, but give it a shot and we will see at the end of the first month.  I think making a competition that is good for small clans is just a bandaid solution, the real solution is solving why clans are smaller when, we have a large pool of new players to draw on.....but that is my my thoughts.

I got asked by Gef to help. First thing I said was that it´s important to contact CS AND to work towards integrating this system into the league site, liek Slaughter and me did with the CL. I stand to this....

Why??? C4P is not the governing body of civ. There is no requirement to ask their permission or come under their wing. This single entity model isn't working... Competition and specialisation are good!

Do you realy think the ladder will die just because another organisation arises to cater for a different need?

Well I disagree that Civplayers "is not working", but the practical reason is simply so that we can lend our support and give the concept real support and advertise it so that more people know about it.  With 2 clicks of a mouse button I can email the entire league membership.....that is where we are coming from.

It's not working for the clan scene CS...

Im sorry. Im sure gef will be happy to take any help that comes his way. A good relationship with c4p is good for everybody obviously.

My problem was only with Jobe's need to centralise everything under the c4p banner. I know gef well enough to know that he is not the kind who enjoy's working for anybody but himself. Without the sense of achivement from creating your own thing what other incentive is there to put in the hours needed to run such an organisation? I'm sure you at least understand this...

I ment that in the way, taht this project would stand a better chance AND the leageu site would benefit, if both workerd together. That has absolutely nothing to do with askign anyone´s permission.
