Was not trying to say it would be fair, was just saying it would be easy fast
and couldent be worse than shuffle.

Picking as Moin says is the best thing, but it is slow, especialy if people starts leaving during the process, wait for new repick ect ect.

I think you didn't understand it :)

He didn't say name 2 captains as highest two ranked players who will start picking teams.

He said:

1. The two highest ranked players are captains ( this takes less than 1 second, we already know who they are while waiting for the game to fill up)

2. The highest ranked of the two captains picks the 2 teams consisting of 4 people each (this takes max 1 minute)

3. The other captain picks one of the 2 teams (this takes 2 seconds)

All and all, this takes a lot less than any other picking system and if some player does not agree with the teams captain 1 can always change teams and keep the balance.

Yes you are right, i misunderstood.
This one sure sounds cool.
They talk, and talk and talk and talk, about individual freedom. They see one free individual and it scares the shiiit out of them

Just wanted to throw this out as food for thought. This all seems reasonable to me as a team outsider ;); but if I understand it correctly, this approach can offer the opportunity for players to "quit" if they don't like their team before the rules say they quit. I don't know what that answer is, and it may be a can of worms that isn't worth opening, but wanted to point it out since I haven't seen it mentioned yet.

Rather have them quit before we start than after we start!

Was my thought, too. But I still think it´s worth a shot, not because I personally despise shuffle, but because it sounds like a fun way to set up a game.

there is always someone who s bitching about how unfair the teams are, even they are not...
and since the ladder community now has more jerks and rankwhores than it had 2-3 years ago, it just wont work

Elrad'ing is good. I've always liked Elrad teamers. It's quick and easy.

Well, I've been doing it for a few games now. I tell you, it's not THAT easy to balance those teams :D

Eskendale did it better, he put best players with worst noobs in one team and four decent players in the other and we had a nice balanced game in the end. (No idea if them having war start helped balancing, but it was fun defending against swarms of quechas, bows and warriors and still getting oracle)
