New "Scrapping" Enforcement Policy
« on: January 07, 2009, 07:47:54 AM »
There has been a lot of recent events since I and the other admins have been processing RD's that have lead me to the conclusion that we have a large issue with individuals and small groups trying to force a game to be scrapped without going threw an official vote to determine if the players in the game want to scrap it.  I'm sure we all are aware that it takes everyone in a game less one player to scrap the game.

This has become so rampant lately that I believe that it is a bigger issue than quitting games or abuse of other players.  Therefore, I have to take strong measures, and starting immediately any player that we receive reasonable evidence that he/she has taken part in an effort to bypass the proper scrapping procedures to  try to end a game for their own benefit will be subject to a 30 day suspension, and there will be no reprieve for this sentence once the Admin team has agreed that the player is guilty after a through investigation, involving all parties to the event.

Thank you. I´m tired of being called a rank whore because I don´t want to scrap a game where the opposing side just lost its stack and is about to die.

First of all I should advise you to be a little more polite to people here - if you keep on throwing around that people should STfun utopia and such you a) won't make yourself very popular and b) it will lead to admin actions at some point.

CS's post is easy to understand, but I'll try to make it easier...

1. There are players who sometimes do not want that a game gets reported (for different reasons); so they try any means to avoid that.

2. One means is leaving a game and telling others to do the same, so that the game can't be continued.

3. As this would be quitting, they find an excuse for it - such as heavy lag or something else.

4. This is not bad in itself (there are valid reasons for scraps) - but not observing the procedure for a scrap is. The procedure is putting up a vote whether to scrap the game or not. All minus 1 player have to agree, otherwise the games has to continue.

5. The problem has been growing lately.

6. Therefore the Admin Team will look at complaints about forcing scraps with especial care from now on.

7. If we have evidence a player has forced a scrap or tried to so without observing the procedure, he will be suspended for 30 days and cannot play league games any more in that period.
