I'm new to the Civilization multiplayer scene; can someone tell me which of the many Steam Community Groups I should join to play Civ 5 and Civ BE?

  • Civilization Players Leagues - public access, but it seems dead. I joined anyway, because it's related to this site.
  • NO QUITTERS - invite only, but the chat is public and semi-active. I'd need an invite to join; is it worth it?
  • Civ V NO QUITTERS - public access, but it seems dead. It looks related to the other NQ groups, so I joined it anyway.
  • Civilization No Quitters - invite only, and looks very active. I'd need an invite to join this one, too.

There were a couple more I found through Google, but they're also dead. And there are probably more I haven't found. Any advice or suggestions from veteran members of the community about where to park myself would be greatly appreciated!

Yes Civplayers does have a steam chat that it has had since Civ5 came out.  But with the decline in Civ5 players we agreed to combine efforts with CivNQ.

Now there is an old, mostly defunct NQ group, but that group is not the active one nor did it chose to cooperate with Civplayers.  CivNQ and Civplayers are the ones running the steam chat and offering ranked Civ5 games.
