Title: Equal Islands V2

Beta version uploaded.

What's new:

- Shouldn't be possible anymore to overload the map and get extra land or resources.
- Shouldn't be possible anymore for islands to touch.
- Non-sea start shouldn't happen anymore.
- Removed random sea resources from the deep ocean.
- Setting resources to Balanced no longer eliminates marble.
- All units start on the same tile. No more random luck with where your worker starts.

Please test and let me know if there are any more bugs.

Played once E.I. Semi-Cton and it was a blast!  Could be a great late or mid era teamer too!

axius,i suggest set worker start tile randomly,but all player's worker same tile,so worker might start at hill pig or something like that

Played the Equal Islands V2 beta it a couple of times tonight. Only noticed one issue.  We had 7 on small and everyone had identical fat cross, but we also had huts turned on but we didn't get any.  Since the resources are bountiful why not a couple of huts too?

Great Job Axius, once again.

Just a note : Occ is so closed, limited, poor and linear that we have to make a map where all player's workers start on a same case.Crazy.

At least that ask adaptation, what you cant make in OCC  ;)

And just compare what you said : you had to give you pig, irrigated corn+cupper when i had only one cow to unbalance our "normal" game when on OCC just different workers start unbalance the game.What does it prove?

Its bc many OCC players improved and we have now 10 same top skiled
occ players...
stop bashing OCC, zombie, and play any other crap wot u like...

AND YES WOT MAKE MY ADREALIN TO GROWTH IS TIE RACE TILL LAST TURN...

Yep, right.I'll let you find alone why 10 players improved so fast on OCC in only 1 year when it didnt happen on "normal" games in 4 years.  ;)

It just proves how much you don't understand other set up ahandac.
BTS changes the way forest spawn on the map drastically, so  my call is that I'm gonna have crap cap, but lots of forest. (playing regularly as Gandhi of india, I can tell that some of my best games i.e in Inland Ren, I had no food (!!) but 20 forest :D)
So I can go for a all-chop rush, or I can just expand vertically way faster. True you going to expand vertically your capital better, but I hope for you you do good think with that bronze (choking me adequattely) otherwise it will be all wasted.

It was an ancient start. With checked on, but none appeared.  It might just be a random thing, I don't know exactly how it works.  Perhaps there's no way to tweak it, but it would be nice to have a minimum number of huts even on a small island.

OCC is easier bc its only 1 city,and its cton,u play teamer but its duel

and OCC become a little simple now bc all tricks have been discovered,in the discovery era its a great fun,dont u think

Not possible. It's a binary option: they either start all together with the settler or civ4 randomizes them.

I never checked into how the huts are generated. They probably don't get placed near resources. And 7 on Small usually results in pretty small islands so there isn't much space anyway. But the script doesn't specifically do anything about the huts.

That has nothing to do with OCC (and why discuss OCC in a map thread?). The goal of this script is to make IDENTICAL starts for everybody. Random unit placement was just one of the things that was non-identical.

The map works wonderfully. I've played a few Island semi-ctons on it (non occ) and all our units are placed together. every start has been coastal, however I havent played it enough times to say that it is completely fixed yet, but i bet it is.

I found a bug with the script....

In one game we had stone on another land mass, and had to cross over with galleys to hook as usual.  The problem was even with fort + road, I could not hook stone.  However the game host had stone hooked with the same improvements.  I tried also building quarry and another fort nearby and still not hooked.  I think that when the game script copies the land, it screws up the resource hooking across water in some way.  But it's weird because I loaded as some other players and the stone hooked for them, so apparently it's just only sometimes this happens.

and those nwb threatened that she will decline game
if i have hoked stone and she left game and reload as me
then come back and bictching...
MLL plz avoid me and my games in future plz...
and i not win that game bc i wasnt concentrated bc her...

Why would it matter if you built the fort before the road?  That is by definition a bug.

Why would it matter if you built the fort before the road?  That is by definition a bug.
It is a known bug in latest BTS...nothing to do with the map

Well i used many many times forts in indus or in modern/future for nukes.
Anyway i didnt know about this tips, nice to know it.

Yes OCC learn lot of things.I personnaly learnt lof of things from OCC, as the tech discount.But all you learn from OCC, is generaly usefull for OCC only.  ;)

I don't think that what you learn from OCC is only usefull in OCC...they might not be usefull in anc ss, but certainly usefull in modern and future teamers and of course in ironman and pitboss games.

If nothing else, just seeing the potential of growing one city to tech and produce at monster rates, opens up your horizons a bit...it cannot be reproduced in normal games, but the logic is there...ready for you to apply it in the right circumstances.

Not sure, yes there is some things you can learn from OCC that can be usefull for "normal" games, but not a lot.

I am speacking about specifics tips, as for example the tech discount or the "i make a worker but my city still grow because i have too many food in the granary", and not general things you can learn in solo. ;)

I critice but that doesnt mean i dont like OCC.I made a lot, well not compare to all you but i think that's not bad, but i still logical and honnest.

That's not because i love future that i am not agree that is not really civ and that's closer of a RTS. ;)

Sometimes it's just sad to see OCC's players so narrowminded, thinking that OCC is perfect and doesnt have any problem.But as they are often, so often, criticed, they just became closed to critices, i understand it, np, i think criticers deserves it.

but he had quary  and he get stone hoked.

Actually I did use forts to hook up resources on islands with no cities.
